Now, I haven't accepted any ARCs in awhile just because I don't want to commit to anything but I did accept three from Sourcebooks. The one I will start working on this week is from James Whitfield Thomson called "Lies You Wanted to Hear". It will be released next month and I am pretty excited.
Here's the synopsis from Sourcebooks:
Alone in an empty house, Lucy tries to imagine the lives of her two young children. They have been gone for seven years, and she is tormented by the role she played in that heartbreaking loss. You can hardly see a glimpse of the sexy, edgy woman she used to be. Back then, she was a magnet for men like Matt, who loved her beyond reason, and Griffin, who wouldn't let go but always left her wanting more. With shattering, unthinkable turns that will wrench every mother’s heart, this suspenseful story probes the issue of how well you know the person you married. How much can you trust them with your heart— and with your future? -
So Lies You Wanted to Hear looks fabulous...and I bet it would be a GREAT reading group book. Can't wait to see what you think :)

It's so good!!! If you like "other worldly", "dark", etc. type of books with Old School PI style wit, you'll like it!
DeleteOff to see your post :)
I will check into these! I just downloaded a new book - it's called The Light Between Oceans! I can't wait to get started!

DeleteI am excited for So Lies You Wanted to Hear.
I will need to look into The Light Between Oceans!
I learned while reading the GOT series, not to get too attached to a character! I know what you mean about the recuperation time needed. Have a great reading week.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! As soon as you get attached, you are signing their death warrant. The crazy thing about his books- out of nowhere, the character that was utterly despicable becomes less despicable (i.e., Jaime Lannister). However, I am so glad my favorites have survived so far: Dany, Tyrion, and Jon. Good grief, I feel like I am forgetting some! Who are some of your favorites?
DeleteOMG I want to read Lies You Wanted To Hear just from reading the synopsis, sounds intense! Have a great week and happy reading :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I hope it's as great as it sounds!
