A Little Desert Apartment

I don't know about you, but I feel like I am ALWAYS on the move.  GO. GO. GO.  No breaks.  Whether it is for my daughter or for me, it feels like we are going nonstop.  Emma has therapies, doctors, and lots of activities.  I have my job, my blog and I make jewelry so I try to be prepared and I am not always successful but I do try to always have a book, bottle of water, snack bars, and feminine care in my purse. I try to be prepared for some... surprises.  Especially at my age - anything can happen and I want to be free to move without worry!


I try to keep my daughter busy.   She's a tween and at the age where she would rather sit on her bed and watch Netflix or play apps on the iPad all day.  We already have a pretty packed schedule with all of her therapies but I try to at least keep her busy having some fun.


On the weekends, she attends an adaptive exercise program for children with special needs.  She has a BLAST.  I love it because I get two blissful hours to relax (and read!) while she gets to hang out with friends and play, play, play!


Another one of her loves?


Adaptive ballet! There's nothing more beautiful than seeing children of all abilities dancing together.  It's beautiful and freeing.

On the weekends, I like to work on some jewelry that I sell on order.


I was so pleased with how this piece has turned out.  Isn't it gorgeous?

Emma also loves to go shopping with me and some of her lifeskill goals has been to learn more independence, decision making skills and money handling.


Of course, Walmart is a great place for her to learn at! We like to go to our new Walmart Neighborhood Marketplace since it's smaller and not quite as busy as a Supercenter so I can let her do the ultimate kid treat...


That's right pushing the shopping cart.  That's a BIG deal!



Of course, while we were there, I had to pick up Stayfree Ultra Thin Regular and Stayfree Overnight pads. Always have to have the best pads when Aunt Flo is knocking on the door and nothing can stop me from being #FreeToMove, not even when a period strikes.
