Have you heard of Skillshare yet? I hadn't heard of it prior to this opportunity but I am not kidding when I say "mind. blown". With Skillshare, you can learn essential skills from industry leaders who are shaping the world of fashion today. Whether you are an aspiring apparel brand mogul or simply looking to write your first style blog post, the Skillshare School of Fashion and Style will provide you with the tools to make it happen!
When I perused the website, I was overwhelmed by all the options available just in the School of Fashion and Style section. Seriously, there are classes to master makeup from the 1920s, Introduction to Fashion Photography, and textiles. This is just a minute portion of their offerings. WITHOUT having to pay university tuition. I have always wanted to learn various skills in different areas (i.e., graphic design, photography basics, hair, textiles, wholesaling, etc.) but I really, really, really don't want to get degrees or even certificates in them because it's for personal use, my little blog or my business dreams.
The class offerings would be great to somebody who isn't sure if they want to go into the field and they can get introduction and decide if they want to obtain a degree in the field or not!
Here are some bonuses that I find pertinent (at least to me!)
- Work at your own pace. Literally.
- Create projects! Bust out with those newly acquired skills and ideas!
- The class doesn't have an end date!
- They are taught by people who are relevant in the industry they are teaching.
- The Materials are downloaded within the class.
- Support. There is a lot of support.
- Very affordable! (All under $25!).
I have a loooong list of classes I want to take! I want to take some a DSLR photography class, a head shot/fashion photography class, a writing class, and I am not kidding- the 1920s makeup class (this one will be my first class or maybe the photography! Crud! I don't know which one now!)!
I will definitely post an update once I take a class! I am excited!
Do you see any classes you would like to take?
disclaimer: This is a compensated sponsored post. However, my opinion remains the same regardless of compensation.
Thanks for sharing this! I have a degree in Fashion Design and love the opportunity to "relearn" some things. Plus what blogger can't use photography skills? I'm sure my hubby can use a break from my bossiness. (He's the one who takes most of the pics for my blog.)
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! Yeah, nothing wrong with continous education. Fashion design is amazing. No wonder you have such a great sense of style.
DeleteHaha! Yes, indeed! I'm not a very photographer and need the skills (especially as a blogger) . Your pics on your blog are lovely!
